Serbia - July 15, 2025 There is no more food for the cattle on the pastures, because they have completely turned yellow, and a huge problem for the animals is the limited water supply. Due to climate changes and droughts that last year after year, livestock farmers in Vojvodina face a shortage of water in their pastures. It is estimated that around 60 wells are missing in this area, which directly threatens the feeding of cattle and sheep during grazing. Farmers, fruit growers and vegetable growers will face an average 50 percent reduction in yields due to drought this season. Some farmers will have a yield reduction of up to 80 percent, and those who grew corn on sandy soil will be particularly affected. Apart from corn, soybeans are also affected, while the consequences of the drought in fruit growing are different. Sunflower thrives despite the many challenges this season brings. However, dry periods that hit certain parts of the country can seriously affect the final crop.
