LONDON, UK - JULY 19, 2025: Thousands of demonstrators gathered in central London on Saturday, July 19, for the 28th National March for Palestine, calling for an end to the ongoing Israeli genocide in Gaza, despite heavy rain. Protesters filled the streets to express solidarity with Palestinians and demand an immediate ceasefire. They called for an end to the Israeli genocide in Gaza, urging the UK government to stop arming Israel and take action to end the deliberate starvation of Gaza’s population. Chanting slogans and carrying placards, participants demanded accountability and international intervention. The march proceeded peacefully through the heart of the capital, with organizers vowing to continue their efforts until their demands are met and lasting peace is achieved. During the demonstration, a protester wearing a mask of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu held a bloodied baby doll, symbolizing the thousands of Palestinian children killed during the ongoing Israeli violence in Gaza. The graphic imagery underscored the protesters’ call for an immediate end to the genocide in Gaza. Beside him, another protester, wearing a mask of U.S. President Donald Trump, held a photo of devastated Gaza. The caption on the photo read, "Gaza Real Estate: 100,000 Vacant Lots, Prime Locations. Previous Owners, Families & Children, Permanently Removed," referencing the ongoing displacement of Palestinians due to Israeli aggression in the region. Rejecting international calls for a ceasefire, the Israeli army has pursued a genocidal war on the Gaza Strip since Oct. 7, 2023, killing nearly 59,000 Palestinians so far, most of them women and children. The relentless bombardment has destroyed the enclave and led to food shortages and spread of disease. Last November, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza. Israel also faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its war on the enclave.
