Inside Elon Musk's Tesla diner - review of robot servers and Cybertruck burgers
Some of the first people to visit Tesla's first-ever diner revealed what it was like inside - staffed by robots with burgers served in Cybertruck boxes
Tesla Diner on Santa Monica Boulevard, Los Angeles, California, officially opened to the public yesterday (21).
Wil Morrise, 55, visited with his wife, Marty Morrise, 47, and his son, 22, on Saturday, among the lucky few who were able to check it out early.
Wil, the self-described "Tesla-superfan," has owned Teslas for the last 10 years, and currently owns a Cybertruck and a Model 3."
He said that the diner was "futuristic" with robots serving popcorn, 80 charging points for electric vehicles - and a drive-in movie theater where you can order food to your car."
Wil, the founder of Tesla Club - SoCal, from Orange County, California, said: "It is designed to be like a place you would go to on Mars."
"When you go inside, there are loads of futuristic stuff, there are screens everywhere, 80 charging points."
"And when you go to the restroom, you look out the window and see a view of Earth from space."
Wil headed down with his family at 10am to catch up with fellow Tesla owners who were at the soft launch.
Once inside, Wil said he and his wife ordered a chicken waffle sandwich - costing $15 - and a Tesla burger - served in a Cybertruck box - costing - $13.5.
He said: "My wife and I both got food, it was really good quality."
"It wasn't your standard fast food quality; it was restaurant-level food."
"The food is well placed; it was $16 for the burgers, which is on par with what diners will charge you."
Wil said that the diner was an "incredible" experience, and he is already planning to go back again."
Elon Musk visited the diner and said it was "one of the coolest spots in LA" and is planning to open more."
Wil said: "I would absolutely go back again, being a Tesla fan and being in the community, it is a fun place to hang out."
"I hope Elon opens more. People from around the world and across the country have been telling me they would love one where they live."
