Bitcoin ATMs have appeared in Hong Kong for crypto fans to quickly send digital payments through cash machine-like devices.

Footage shows the machine in a public space, drawing curious glances from tourists on July 26.

The ATM features three separate outlets labelled for RMB, USD, and HKD, supporting crypto-to-cash withdrawals in multiple currencies.

The filmer said: 'I don't know how they work, and I didn't want to try, but they look pretty futuristic.'

The machine is the product of CoinHero, a Hong Kong-based crypto ATM operator with 55 machines across the city and neighbouring Taiwan.

Users can buy and sell cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, USDT, BCH, and Dogecoin. Transactions range from HKD 500 (approximately 50.60 GBP) up to HKD 100,000 (approximately 10,120 GBP), with no ID required for lower-value exchanges.

Cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin are decentralised digital assets that allow users to send and receive money without traditional banks. Their popularity has surged globally, offering alternatives for investment, remittances, and even daily spending through blockchain-based wallets and services.
