This is the amusing moment an agile kitten was seen scrambling up the curtains in an attempt to escape from an apartment.

Pannatat Thongsong spotted his Himalayan kitten, Mikey, attempting to clamber up the orange drapes after failing to jump over a barrier in Hat Yai, Thailand.

Footage shows the one-month-old white and grey feline digging its claws into the fabric as it scales the curtain on December 26.

Mikey successfully reached the midway point, but he momentarily lost his footing and plunged back down to the floor.

Pannatat said: 'Mikey is very energetic and playful. He wants to wander around the house, but I don't want him to get hurt, so I have to keep him barricaded in this room.'
