This is the moment the Coldplay Kiss Cam lands on Lionel Messi and his wife, Antonela, during the band's concert following a recent controversial incident.

The soccer legend and his wife were met with cheers as they appeared on the popular Kiss Cam on Sunday, July 27.

Footage shows the couple smiling as the stadium erupted in applause, while the British rock band's frontman, Chris Martin, serenaded them from the stage.

The Inter Miami captain had just completed a one-match suspension by MLS, which kept him out of Saturday's game against FC Cincinnati. The ban followed his absence from the league's All-Star Game in Austin, Texas, the previous week.

The couple reportedly attended the concert at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens and watched the performance from a private suite alongside their three children.

It came as a scandal erupted involving tech boss Andy Byron, who was caught on the Coldplay 'kiss cam' with his suspected mistress.

The CEO of Astronomer was seen embracing his colleague Kristin Cabot, 56, before ducking out of view at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts, on July 16.

The couple, who appeared on the stadium's jumbotron, seemed startled upon seeing themselves on camera.

Andy immediately ducked and hid his face when he realised they were on the screen, while Kristin turned away and covered her face with her hands in embarrassment.

This prompted Chris Martin to quip: 'Either they're having an affair or they're just very shy'.

The incident quickly spread, sparking parodies on kiss cams at sporting events and concerts, with announcers jokingly referencing the couple's reaction.

The two have since officially resigned from the company.

Cofounder and Chief Product Officer Pete DeJoy has been appointed interim CEO, with the board now conducting a search for a permanent successor.
