Shark tangled in crab trap buoy rescued in Florida
This is the dramatic moment a shark entangled in a crab trap buoy was rescued in Florida.
Marine Deputies Judy and Hernandez spotted the distressed predator while patrolling near Manatee Public Beach on Friday.
They immediately contacted partners at Mote Marine Laboratory, a marine research organisation, to help free the entangled creature.
Footage shows the team carefully cutting away ropes and hooks as they work together to release it from the trap.
Once freed, the shark swam away unharmed. Authorities reminded the public of the serious risks posed by marine debris and fishing equipment to wildlife.
