It was a sunny afternoon on 1 August 2025, the kind where the sky melts into the sea and time seems to slow down. We had found the perfect spot along Avenida de Niza in Alicante, Spain, a serene stretch of golden beach kissed by the gentle waves of the Mediterranean.
We watched our daughter toddle joyfully across the sand, her tiny footprints trailing behind her like a story in progress.

And then… it happened.

In the blink of an eye, despite our best efforts and constant watch. Our little explorer scooped up a handful of sand and, with the determination only a toddler can muster, shoved it straight into her mouth.

That unexpected moment, messy and magical, became the highlight of our trip. It’s now a core memory, one that makes us laugh every time we think of it.
