In Orallo, crews executed a direct attack on the fire’s left flank, neutralized any re-ignitions, conducted aerial drone surveillance, and used technical fire to consolidate the assigned sector.
In Yeres, Military Emergencies Unit (UME) personnel arrived at the designated area to oversee and control three sectors of the wildfire close to the local population. Teams studied and monitored the fire’s progression using aerial drones.
Wildfires in Leon province have intensified, prompting regional authorities to raise the alert to IGR 2 — the highest risk level — for blazes in Yeres and Llamas de Cabrera on Saturday, August 9. Another fire in San Bartolome de Pinares in Avila also reached IGR 2, while active fires remain at IGR 1 in Orallo, Fasgar, and Fontoria in the Valle de Laciana.
