Out-of-control car spins, crashes into oncoming vehicle on California highway
This is the moment an out-of-control driver spun out and slammed into another vehicle before striking a concrete wall.
Josesito Cronk, 33, was driving to work on Highway 101 near the San Carlos exit Holly St on August 13 when he noticed a motorist driving "erratically."
Josesito, from Vacaville, California, said: "After the crash, I got out of my car. "
"The driver gave me a thumbs-up and began screaming. "
"Once I realized he was not seriously injured, I went to check on the other driver involved in the accident, who also appeared to be okay."
"I immediately called 911 and I left when both the fire department and paramedics arrived on the scene."
"At one point while driving, the man appeared to be praying with both hands off the steering wheel."
The California Highway Patrol (CHP) in Redwood City said in a statement on Facebook: "Officers assigned to the CHP Redwood City Area office were dispatched to a two-vehicle crash on US-101 southbound, south of Holly Street, in San Carlos. "
"The preliminary investigation indicates the driver of a green Ford Mustang Mach E, crashed into a red Mitsubishi Mirage then collided with the right shoulder wall near the Holly Street overcrossing. "
"Through our investigation, we determined the vehicle was not operating in autonomous mode and CHP officers arrested the driver on suspicion of driving under the influence, resulting in injuries to another."
