Storyline: Newly launched drone service delivers essentials to Yangtze River ship crews [Voice_over] People working on cargo ships sailing along China's Yangtze River can now order takeout—and get it delivered by drones! Typically, crews have to wait until their ship is docked to replenish essentials. But now, they can order snacks, beverages, or staples like rice and cooking oil via a mini app, with drones transporting goods directly to moving vessels. Equipped with edge-computing modules, the drones can lock onto ships, match their speed, and use augmented reality to pinpoint drop zones. The service provider says a single drone can carry up to 100 kilograms of goods. [Sound_bite] Zhai Haifeng, General manager, tech company in Jiangsu Province: "A single drone can deliver up to 100 kilograms of goods, covering the vast majority of needs for crews." [Voice_over] The delivery service currently operates free of charge, handling approximately 150 flights daily. [Restrictions : No access Chinese mainland]
