Market flooded as storms bring heavy rain to Taiwan
A market was flooded in Taiwan as storms brought heavy rain to the region.
Footage shows market stalls with tents being battered by strong winds and intense downpours in Chiayi City on August 24.
Some workers were seen standing ankle-deep in floodwaters as they prepared their goods for sale.
Taiwan's Central Weather Administration issued a special report warning of heavy rain on Monday, saying that storm clouds are expected to grow stronger in the afternoon and could bring short periods of intense rainfall.
Heavy rain advisories have been issued for the mountainous regions of Nantou and Yunlin counties, as well as for Chiayi City, Chiayi County, Tainan City, Kaohsiung City, Pingtung County, and the Hengchun Peninsula.
