Los Angeles, United States - September 03, 2025 09/02/2025 06:40 pm GMT-0700 HOLLYWOOD HILLS WEST, LOS ANGELES, Calif. – On Tuesday evening, approximately 1/4 acre of heavy vegetation was burning uphill in the 2100 block of North Sunset Plaza Drive. Although no structures are currently involved, several homes above the fire are threatened and are being prioritized for structure defense. The Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) has deployed around 80 personnel, including air resources and hand crews. Helicopters are making water drops that have significantly slowed the fire's progress toward the homes. Initial reports from first responders indicated that a vehicle was on fire, with flames spreading uphill through medium-heavy brush toward a hillside home. Air and ground resources from both LAFD and LA County Fire were dispatched to the scene. As of Tuesday evening, all active flames have been extinguished, and forward progress of the fire has been stopped. Helicopters will continue water drops between the homes to cool hotspots, while hand crews begin working toward the goal of 100% containment on the steep terrain. Authorities have issued shelter-in-place orders for Genasys zones LFD-0817, LFD-0819, and LFD-0911. No injuries have been reported, and structure defense is being established by the ground resources.
