Modern tugboat's spectacular demo alongside vintage tug in Kent, UK
A modern tugboat put on an impressive display next to a vintage tug in Kent, UK this afternoon (September 13).
Visitors to Queenborough Classic Boat Festival in Kent were left wowed by a close-quarters demonstration of the Svitzer Tiger, a state-of-the-art tug built in 2025, operating daily from the Port of Sheerness.
In front of heritage MT Kent tug, the Tiger demonstrated its spectacular fire-fighting water jets and incredibly tight, ballet-like ability to manoeuvre within a confined area, before berthing alongside MT Kent.
The Svitzer Tiger is more commonly seen assisting the largest ships into port.
