Wave crashes onto cargo ship crossing the Indian Ocean
A massive wave crashed onto a cargo ship crossing the Indian Ocean.
Budi Utomo and his colleagues were securing items on the deck that had been swept away by swells when the sudden wave surged over the dry bulk carrier on September 7.
Footage shows the man, clad in a blue boilersuit and hard hat, clinging to the metal bars as one of his workmates tried to secure an object in place.
Meanwhile, water floods across the deck, spreading rapidly over the surface.
The Indian Ocean is notorious for powerful waves, particularly during monsoon seasons and tropical cyclones, when swells can exceed 32ft (10 m) and trigger destructive storm surges.
