Deltona, United States - September 16, 2025 On September 16, 2025, 13-year-old Dereck Fontan was arrested for a school threat at Deltona Middle School. Dereck filmed a video of himself loading and handling a gun, then sent it to other students along with rap lyrics referencing taking a life. The video caused fear among students, leading many to stay home from school. After the arrest, deputies provided Dereck’s mother with multiple firearm locks and ensured all her firearms were properly secured.
