Ragasa, the first super typhoon of the year, formed in the Pacific Ocean and has triggered storm and emergency warnings across the Philippines, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macao, and China.
The typhoon entered the South China Sea late Monday and is expected to move northwest at a speed of about 20 kilometers per hour (12 miles per hour). It is expected to make landfall along the central or western coastal areas of the province within 24 hours.
