The Global Sumud Flotilla, a coalition of approximately 50 vessels carrying over 500 activists, is currently about 150 nautical miles from the Gaza Strip, according to a statement from the organization. "The Secretariat is taking preparatory steps together with the Malaysian Government to face any possibilities during this mission's voyage," Sumud Nusantara Command Centre (SNCC) director-general Datuk Dr Sani Araby Abdul Alim Araby said during a press conference. The Malaysian Consultative Council for Islamic Organisation (MAPIM), a participant in the initiative, confirmed that all flotilla vessels had entered the second-level yellow zone as of 3 p.m. local time on Tuesday. "In light of the latest developments, the SNCC will activate live CCTV broadcasts from selected vessels as a precautionary security measure," said MAPIM chief executive officer Sani Araby.
