VARIOUS OF PLANE CARRYING TURKISH ACTIVISTS TAXIING ISTANBUL, TÜRKİYE - OCT. 7, 2025: Fifteen Turkish activists who were among those detained after Israel’s attack on the Global Sumud Fleet in international waters returned to Türkiye on Tuesday, Oct. 7. The Turkish Airlines flight carrying them departed from Amman’s Queen Alia International Airport at 4:35 p.m. local time and landed at Istanbul Airport at 6:50 p.m. The activists were greeted by their families, officials, and supporters at the VIP lounge, with Turkish and Palestinian flags visible at the scene. Earlier in the day, 131 activists from various nationalities, who had been detained by Israel following the interception of the aid flotilla, crossed from the occupied West Bank into Jordan. The 15 Turks were among those released before their repatriation flight to Istanbul. Israeli naval forces attacked and seized vessels of the Global Sumud Flotilla late Wednesday and detained more than 470 activists from over 50 countries. The flotilla had been attempting to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza and challenge Israel’s blockade of the enclave.
