VARIOUS OF BUSES CARRYING ACTIVISTS ENTERING AND EXITING PRISON GROUNDSNEGEV, ISRAEL - OCT. 7, 2025: Turkish and international activists aboard the Global Sumud Flotilla, who were illegally detained by Israel after the flotilla’s interception in international waters, were transported on Tuesday, Oct. 7, by bus to the Allenby Bridge border crossing in the eastern occupied West Bank for handover to Jordan. The participants — including activists from several countries who sought to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza — are expected to be transferred to Jordanian authorities after completing border procedures. Israeli naval forces attacked and seized vessels of the Global Sumud Flotilla beginning on Wednesday and detained more than 470 activists from over 50 countries. The flotilla had been attempting to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza and challenge Israel’s blockade of the enclave. Israel has maintained the blockade on Gaza, home to nearly 2.4 million people, for almost 18 years. Since October 2023, Israeli bombardments have killed more than 67,000 Palestinians in the enclave, most of them women and children, and rendered it uninhabitable.
