A huge alligator was seen crossing a road outside a Publix store in east Orlando, Florida, on October 5.

Amanda was driving through the area when she was halted by the large reptile strolling across the busy road.

She joked: "Why did the Alligator cross the road? He wanted to go to Publix."

The filmer later called the nearby store to inform them the alligator was heading towards their grounds.

"I was driving home in East Orlando when a huge gator walked in the road in front of my car. He stopped traffic and then crossed the median and then was heading straight for the Publix parking lot!

"I called the store to warn them that a Gator was walking in the parking lot towards the store. The store ended up calling the Police and the Orlando Sheriff's department came to escort the gator back to the pond nearby. It was a big deal that stopped traffic in the area for a while."
