President Lai Ching-te delivered a speech during the ceremony, which featured official addresses, performances, and military displays as part of the annual event. Taiwan’s National Day, also known as Double Ten Day, commemorates the Wuchang Uprising of Oct. 10, 1911, which led to the fall of China’s Qing Dynasty and the establishment of the Republic of China. The day is celebrated each year with parades, flag-raising ceremonies, cultural performances, and patriotic displays across the island.
