Evenes, Norway - October 18, 2025 IX(B) Squadron Typhoons carried out a sortie on 8 October 2025 in support of Exercise HILLSTREAM, footage labelled “Gopro Rushes 1 of 2” shows. Exercise HILLSTREAM runs from 18 September to 26 October 2025 in Norway and forms part of the larger Exercise TARASSIS, a wide-ranging rehearsal of Joint Expeditionary Force response options. The wider exercise demonstrates how the JEF can deploy forces simultaneously to the High North, the North Atlantic and the Baltic Sea Region to deter adversaries and protect peace, security and prosperity in the Euro-Atlantic area. Between 7 and 9 October 2025 the Typhoon element focused on providing close air support for 3 Commando Brigade as it staged an amphibious assault in Norway’s High North. IX(B) Squadron deployed from RAF Lossiemouth to Evenes to enable a high-readiness, flexible force able to respond rapidly to crises, including aggression, humanitarian disasters or other security challenges. Also participating in Exercise HILLSTREAM were 40 Commando and the Maritime Task Group alongside IX(B) Squadron and 3 Commando Brigade.
