2. EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF STABILIZATION SUPPORT UNIT MUNZIR AL-SELLAL SPEAKING TO REPORTER (Arabic) ALEPPO, SYRIA - OCT. 26: Syrian families who fled the clashes involving the Daesh terrorist group and remained at the al-Hol camp under the control of the PKK/YPG in northeastern Syria continue to be evacuated under coordination with the Damascus administration.

Munzir al-Sellal, Executive Director of the Stabilization Support Unit, told Anadolu that the third convoy, called “Hope 3,” arrived in Aleppo province following the first evacuation that began in June 2025.

Sellal said the initiative is a significant step toward reuniting Syrian civilians with their families, adding, “Through this convoy, we are bringing civilians from al-Hol camp back to their families in various Syrian provinces. The convoy includes 38 women and 16 children from Homs, Idlib, and Daraa.”

Despite the difficult conditions in the camp, he said efforts are being made to accelerate the evacuation process as much as possible. “For these families to leave the camp, reunite with their loved ones, and reintegrate into Syrian society is both a humanitarian necessity and a national priority,” he added.

Sellal noted that the process continues smoothly through coordination among multiple institutions and stated that around 13,000 to 14,000 people still remain in the camp, most of whom come from regions outside northeastern Syria.

The Stabilization Support Unit carried out the first convoy evacuation from al-Hol camp in coordination with the Damascus administration on June 16, 2025.
