The demonstration was organized to support the "Ulm 5" -- the five activists arrested for allegedly entering and damaging the Elbit Systems facility in Ulm.

The protest continued with a march and chants calling for solidarity, while police detained some of the demonstrators.

In September, a group of pro-Palestinian activists reportedly broke into the offices of Elbit Systems in Ulm to draw public attention to the ongoing genocide against Palestinians in Gaza.

Elbit Systems, Israel's largest military manufacturer, operates several offices and production facilities throughout Germany. The company specializes in communication systems, reconnaissance technologies, unmanned aircraft and ground vehicles, while maintaining close ties to the German arms industry.

Israel has killed more than 68,000 people and injured over 170,000 others in two years of attacks in Gaza since October 2023.

The first phase of a ceasefire agreement took effect in Gaza on Oct. 10 under US President Donald Trump’s 20-point plan.

Phase one includes the release of Israeli hostages in exchange for Palestinian prisoners. The plan also envisages the rebuilding of Gaza and the establishment of a new governing mechanism without Hamas.
