US: Loose Monkey Causes Chaos At Texas Spirit Halloween
Plano, United States - October 27, 2025 Newly released bodycam footage from Plano police shows the aftermath of a startling incident at a Spirit Halloween store, where a pet monkey was seen swinging from the rafters. Officers arrived at the store in response to the unusual disturbance, capturing footage of themselves moving through the aisles while searching for the animal’s owner. By the time they located her, she had already reunited with the monkey, which had calmed down after its viral antics earlier that day. Shoppers were shocked to see the small monkey, wearing a diaper, darting and swinging above their heads. Police said the pet had been spooked by one of the store’s animatronic decorations, prompting it to escape from its owner’s grasp. The owner eventually enticed the monkey with a cookie, regaining control without any injuries. Officers advised her to keep the monkey on a leash in the future and warned against allowing it to roam freely in public spaces. The incident was captured on video by shopper Arlene Pinkston while she and her daughter browsed for Halloween costumes. The footage shows the monkey perched in the rafters, then calmly leaving the store with its owner. Despite the chaos, no one was harmed, and the situation ended peacefully once the pet was back in control.
