China's top political advisor Wang Huning met with Marko Lotric, president of the National Council of Slovenia, in Beijing on Monday. Wang, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), said that under the strategic guidance of the heads of the two states, China and Slovenia have engaged in frequent exchanges and dialogs at all levels and in all fields since the beginning of this year, effectively enhancing mutual understanding and trust. Noting that China appreciates Slovenia's adherence to the one-China principle, Wang said China is willing to work with Slovenia to enhance exchanges in various fields, deepen mutually beneficial cooperation, promote common development, and push bilateral relations to a new level. The CPPCC National Committee is willing to further deepen mutual understanding and mutual learning with the National Council of Slovenia to contribute to greater development of China-Slovenia relations, he said. For his part, Lotric highly commented on the Belt and Road Initiative and the four global initiatives proposed by President Xi Jinping, strongly agreed with the concept of building a community with a shared future for humanity, and highly appreciated China's contributions to common development, fairness and justice. He said that Slovenia attaches great importance to developing relations with China, firmly upholds the one-China principle, and is willing to work hand in hand with China towards a better future.
