Philippines - November 04, 2025 Authorities in the western Philippines have suspended school, work, and all sea travel as the region prepares for the possible impact of Tropical Cyclone Tino, local media reported on Saturday. Local governments in Capiz province, in the Western Visayas region, have suspended classes and work at all levels beginning Monday due to the potential impact of Tropical Cyclone Tino, according to local media outlet Inquirer. The Philippine Coast Guard has also suspended all sea travel in Surigao del Norte province and nearby island routes due to worsening sea conditions as the storm moves west-northwest towards the Visayas region. Tropical Cyclone Tino is expected to intensify into a typhoon early next week. The preemptive measures were implemented after the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) issued an advisory urging local residents to prepare for possible evacuation. According to Pagasa, Tino is currently a tropical depression outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), is expected to enter the country on Sunday, and could strengthen into a typhoon by Tuesday.
