The scene on tunnel avenue in Greenwich south east London where ten fire engines and around seventy firefighters are responding to a fire in an industrial unit. Ten fire engines and around 70 firefighters have been called to a building fire on Tunnel Avenue in Greenwich. An industrial unit is alight. The fire is producing a significant amount of smoke and people in the local area are advised to keep windows and doors closed. A number of road closures are in place in the area including on Tunnel Avenue and Blackwall Lane. Drivers accessing the northbound Blackwall Tunnel may face some disruption. The Brigade was called at 1813 and Control Officers have mobilised crews from East Greenwich, Greenwich. Deptford, Poplar and surrounding fire stations to the scene. A 32-metre turntable ladder is also in attendance. The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
