Jamaica - November 05, 2025 Personnel aboard HMS Trent, the Royal Navy Batch 2 Offshore Patrol Vessel, have arrived in Jamaica to provide disaster relief support following a request from the Government of Jamaica and the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO). The crew is deploying a Crisis Response Team to assist wherever needed, bolstering local capabilities during a critical period. HMS Trent is currently on patrol in the Caribbean and North Atlantic as part of Atlantic Patrol Tasking (North), the Royal Navy’s ongoing commitment to the region. The vessel’s mission includes maintaining readiness to provide humanitarian assistance throughout the core hurricane season. In addition, HMS Trent works closely with regional partners to enhance maritime security, including countering illegal drug trafficking. This deployment highlights the Royal Navy’s dual role of supporting Overseas Territories and allied nations while safeguarding regional stability and security.
