Royal Fleet Auxiliary ship RFA Tidesurge provides logistical support to the Royal Navy, anywhere in the world.
This includes refuelling warships, at sea. It entered service in 2018, RFA Tidesurge (A138) joined a fleet of four 39,000 tonne Tide-class tankers.
The ships cruise alongside Royal Navy warships and as the ships sail close together stores of all types and fuel are transferred as they are tethered to each other.
