A simple act of compassion has gone viral after Kylee, a musician visiting a nursing home, rescued a desert cardinal that had become trapped indoors. The clip, posted to Instagram by @becomingliriarose, has now reached 77,400 views.

Kylee explained she was arriving to arrange a performance for residents when she noticed the bird repeatedly trying to escape through a window. She gently picked it up and carried it outside, where it quickly flew away to freedom.

I was walking into a nursing home to set up a time to perform my music for the residents there when I saw this bird trying to escape outside that was confused. It kept trying to get out the window, so I helped it by picking it up and carrying it outside where it flew away.
