Bodies of soldiers martyred in C-130 crash returned to Türkiye

CONVOY OF VEHICLES CARRYING REMAINS OF MARTYRS, INCLUDING EMERGENCY VEHICLES AND SECURITY FORCES, CRUISING ON ROAD (TWO SHOTS) (NIGHT SHOTS) ANKARA, TÜRKİYE - NOV. 13, 2025: Bodies of soldiers martyred in the crash of a C-130 military cargo plane on the Georgia-Azerbaijan border were brought to Ankara, Türkiye, on Thursday, Nov. 13, by a Turkish Air Force A400M military cargo plane.
During search and rescue operations at the crash site, the bodies were recovered and underwent forensic procedures at the scene.
Once these procedures were completed, the bodies were transferred to the A400M military cargo plane for transport to Türkiye.
Upon landing at Murted Airfield, the bodies were placed in ambulances and taken to the Forensic Medicine Institute.
The Turkish C-130 military cargo aircraft had crashed while on its way home from Azerbaijan. According to the ministry, the aircraft was carrying 20 people, including the flight crew.
At a weekly press briefing, the ministry gave an update on the crash investigation. The flight data recorder (FDR) and cockpit voice data recorder (CVDR) from the aircraft have both been brought to Türkiye for analysis and are currently being examined in the capital Ankara.
The ministry also said that social media accounts that gave the identities of the deceased soldiers before official announcements were identified, and legal action against them has begun.
Besides, the ministry announced that as of this Wednesday, the operations of C-130 aircraft have been temporarily suspended. Flights will resume only after detailed technical inspections are completed.
