4. VARIOUS OF VISITORS LOOKING AT SCULPTURES AND STUFF INSIDE ICE DOME HREBIENOK, SLOVAKIA - NOV. 13, 2025: The Tatry Ice Dome opened to the public on Thursday, Nov. 13, in the Slovak mountain resort of Hrebienok.

This year’s cathedral-style structure was inspired by Rome’s Basilica of St. John Lateran and dedicated to the late Pope Francis and his successor, Leo XIV.

Slovak President Peter Pellegrini also attended the opening.

Led by Adam Bakos, a team of 20 sculptors from Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Poland and Germany used more than 100 tonnes of ice to build the dome, whose interior features likenesses of Popes Benedict XVI, John Paul II, John Paul I and Paul VI.
