GÖRÜNTÜ DÖKÜMÜ : SRINAGAR, JAMMU AND KASHMIR, INDIA -NOV. 14: A powerful explosion at a police station in the Nowgam area of Srinagar in India’s Jammu and Kashmir on Friday night, Nov. 14, resulted in multiple fatalities and injuries, with officials stating the blast was caused by accidentally detonated confiscated explosives.

The blast occurred while a police and forensics team was examining a large cache of stored explosive material inside the station, according to officials.

The force of the explosion caused significant damage to the police station building and adjacent structures, and also damaged several vehicles parked within the compound.

Local media reports, citing police sources, indicated that at least three people were killed and several others were injured in the incident.

Emergency crews worked to retrieve several bodies from the debris following the blast.

An official statement confirmed that the explosion triggered a fire at the station, prompting a large-scale emergency response.

A significant number of firefighters and ambulances were dispatched to the scene to extinguish the blaze and assist the victims.
