Duhok and the nearby border district of Zakho experienced short bursts of rain, and civil defense teams in Zakho reported minor flooding in several neighborhoods, noting that a number of vehicles were affected.

Erbil received light rain for the first time in months. Residents welcomed the brief shower, saying it eased persistent dust and temporarily improved air quality.

The Duhok Meteorology Department said the highest precipitation was recorded in the Amedi district.

The rainfall offered rare relief in a region that has endured prolonged drought, as Iraq continues to experience below-average precipitation in recent years, leading to reduced water levels and extended dry spells across several provinces.
