3. VARIOUS OF BAYRAKTAR KIZILELMA LANDING TÜRKİYE - (RELEASED ON NOV. 20, 2025) - RESTRICTION: USERS MUST CREDIT “BAYKAR” HANDOUT, —EDITORIAL USE ONLY— Türkiye’s first unmanned combat aircraft, Bayraktar KIZILELMA, completed a historic test flight by locking onto a target F-16 and achieving a direct hit in a simulated launch with the national air-to-air missile GOKDOGAN.

According to a statement by Baykar, Bayraktar KIZILELMA, developed nationally and indigenously with the company’s own resources, successfully passed another critical stage demonstrating its effectiveness on the battlefield.

The unmanned combat aircraft took off from the AKINCI Flight Training and Test Center in Tekirdag’s Corlu district and conducted a 1 hour 45 minute flight at an average altitude of 15,000 feet.

During the flight, it performed formation flying with F-16s and verified national radar and munitions integration. With this flight, Bayraktar KIZILELMA’s total test flight time exceeded 55 hours.

Two Turkish Air Force F-16 fighter jets also took part in the Bayraktar KIZILELMA – GOKDOGAN munitions-linked flight and MURAD AESA Radar Performance Test.

One of the F-16s conducted close formation flying with Bayraktar KIZILELMA, demonstrating the platform’s compatibility with manned fighter aircraft, while the other F-16 served as the “target aircraft” as part of the scenario.

As part of the test, Bayraktar KIZILELMA detected and locked onto the target F-16 from a distance of 30 miles using the MURAD AESA Radar developed by ASELSAN.

In the simulation, Bayraktar KIZILELMA successfully neutralized the highly maneuverable F-16 target in the virtual environment, marking an important step for air-to-air combat capability.

Baykar launched the Bayraktar KIZILELMA project in 2021 using 100% private funding. The aircraft rolled off the production line Nov. 14, 2022, and was transferred to the AKINCI Flight Training and Test Center in Tekirdag's Corlu district.

After completing ground tests in record time, it performed its maiden flight Dec. 14, 2022, reaching the skies within one year of development.

Baykar, which has funded all its projects through private resources, has remained a leader in defense exports.
