Gaza - November 20, 2025 The IDF has released footage from the underground tunnel where Lt. Hadar Goldin was held captive. According to the military, the tunnel—approximately 7 kilometers long and 25 meters deep—contained around 80 rooms and was searched for weeks by IDF forces, who were unable to locate him during the operation. Engineering and naval commando units, including Yahalom and Shayetet 13, operated inside what the IDF described as one of the most significant and complex tunnel networks discovered in Gaza to date. The route passes beneath residential neighborhoods near the Philadelphi Corridor and continues through sensitive civilian areas, including an UNRWA compound, mosques, clinics, kindergartens, and schools. The tunnel rooms were reportedly used by senior Hamas commanders, including the Rafah Brigade commander, Mohammed Shabaneh.
