UNCAPTIONED: It's Yellow Brick Lane! East London goes Oz-mad for new Wicked film
It's Yellow Brick Lane! East London goes Oz-mad for new Wicked film. One of London’s most famous streets has had a Wicked-inspired makeover to become Yellow Brick Lane. With Wicked: For Good, the concluding instalment of the two-part Wizard of Oz-based movie musical, heading to cinemas on Friday from now until 2 December, fans and visitors can embark on a journey along the “Yellow Brick Lane”. Erika Lewington, Marketing Director, Universal Pictures International UK & Eire, said: “Bringing Yellow Brick Lane to life in East London is a celebration of imagination, artistry, and community. We’re proud to collaborate with incredible artists to create an experience that connects film, music, and culture in a way that feels truly magical.” It runs from the Banglatown Arch to the area between Hanbury and Buxton Street and includes Wicked-inspired installations and street art from six talented artists including Taya De La Cruz, Jimmy C, Tom Blackford, Mr Cenz, Sophie Mess and Nicolas Dixon. The “Yellow Brick Lane” walking experience also includes: a large neon lyric installation on the Truman Brewery Bridge that spans Brick Lane, secret Funko installations along the art route, street name changes, banners, posters and an array of stickers for people to look for and find.
