Blackpool's last remaining high-rise flats to be demolished today

Final preparations are being made ahead of the demolition of the last three high-rise tower blocks in Blackpool.UK

The three blocks - Elizabeth Court, Churchill Court and Walter Robinson Court - on Queens Park in Layton will be raised to the ground by explosion tomorrow morning.

An evacuation zone will be put in place ahead of the 'blowdown' at 10am as follows:

8:15am - evacuation of residents from within the zone will commence at 8.15am on Sunday morning and should be completed by 9.30am.

9:45am - final checks and evacuation zone closed.

9:50am - last checks at KFC, Lidl, Discount Wallpapers an Farm Foods.

9.55am - Devonshire Road and Caunce Street closed to traffic.

10am - Explosive demolition of the tower blocks - *Radio Wave will be broadcasting the event live on air and online*
