Israel: IDF Chief of Staff Oversees Strike on Senior Hezbollah Commander from Tel Aviv Command Center
Tel Aviv-Yafo, Israel - November 23, 2025 The IDF Chief of Staff, Lt.-Gen. Herzi Halevi, oversaw the Israeli strike in Beirut’s Dahiya district from the military’s high command center in Tel Aviv. The operation targeted what the IDF described as Hezbollah’s most senior military commander. Halevi was joined by the Head of the Operations Directorate, Maj.-Gen. Itzik Cohen; the Head of the Operations Division, Brig.-Gen. Yisrael Shomer; the Head of the Operational Employment Division, Brig.-Gen. Meni Liberty; and additional senior officers. In his remarks, Halevi stated that the strike was intended to disrupt Hezbollah’s force buildup and directly target those seeking to harm Israel. He emphasized that, while the IDF remains committed to the understandings between Israel and Lebanon, it will not allow Hezbollah to strengthen or rearm and will continue acting to remove emerging threats to Israeli civilians.
