2. VARIOUS OF ICRC VEHICLES MOVING AND CROSSING BORDER TO DELIVER DETAINEES GAZA STRIP, PALESTINE - NOV. 26: Gaza’s Health Ministry said Wednesday, Nov. 26, that it received the bodies of 15 additional Palestinian detainees from Israel as part of the ceasefire and prisoner-exchange agreement in effect since Oct. 10.
In a statement posted on its Telegram channel, the ministry said the remains were transferred via teams from the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).
According to the ministry, Israel has returned the bodies of 345 Palestinian detainees to date, 99 of whom have been identified and handed over to their families.
More than 10,000 Palestinians, including children and women, are held in Israeli prisons amid accounts of torture, starvation, and medical neglect, which caused many deaths among detainees, according to Palestinian, Israeli, and international rights groups.
Israel denies systematic abuse, while rights groups continue to call for urgent international investigations and action to stop what they describe as “systematic crimes” against Palestinian prisoners.
