In a statement published on its official Telegram channel, the Ministry reported that the Thai military targeted both the old and new Chey Chumneas Bridges on the morning of December 13. The bridges are located in Thmar Da Commune, Pursat province, near the contested border.

The Cambodian government released video footage showing significant damage to the structures. The reported attack came just hours after President Trump claimed to have brokered a halt to hostilities between the two Southeast Asian nations.

The incident sharply contradicts the prospect of a swift de-escalation. Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul had separately vowed Saturday to continue military operations, signaling a rejection of the proposed ceasefire.

The border conflict, which reignited on December 8, has led to significant civilian displacements and a rising casualty toll on both sides.
