A woman has gone viral after surprising her husband with a rescue puppy hidden in the boot of their car, moments after telling him she needed help unloading groceries from Costco. The clip, posted by @ralphfromcostco, has now surpassed 10 million views.

She explained that their home had felt “dark and lonely” since the loss of their German Shepherd, who had battled cancer. Her husband, Wyatt, had been struggling in a way she hadn’t seen in over a decade. While browsing online, she came across a litter of puppies who urgently needed homes and, acting on instinct, asked the seller if she could pick one up that same day.

With the puppy secured, she told Wyatt she was returning from Costco with “bulky items” and needed help unloading the car. As she recorded the moment — hands shaking — Wyatt opened the trunk to find Ralph, the tiny rescue pup who would change everything. His emotional reaction confirmed she’d made the right choice.

When our German Shepherd passed after battling cancer for a while, our house has become a very dark lonely place, and I’ve never seen my husband feel or act the way he had been in over 10 years. I was looking at marketplace one day install some puppies desperately needed a home, they were about two hours away and would be ready in a week, I asked the girl if she would let me pick him up that day on a whim as I just had no more patience.. she said yes so I told my husband Wyatt I was heading to Costco and would need his help unloading the groceries as I was getting lots of bulky items.
I was shaking while recording this worried his reaction wouldn’t be quite what it was but lo and behold rescue puppy Ralph is home and I do not regret one thing!
