6. (SOUNDBITE) (Hebrew) ISRAELI PRIME MINISTER BENJAMIN NETANYAHU, SAYING:
“It is not for nothing that The Economist ranks us among the three best economies in the world. NVIDIA will create thousands of jobs, but understand this: currently, our unemployment is at its lowest since the establishment of the State of Israel. This is so different from what is happening in the West, in other countries.” SEGULA, ISRAEL (DEC. 18, 2025) (EDITORIAL USE ONLY - MANDATORY CREDIT – ‘GOVERNMENT PRESS OFFICE OF ISRAEL (GPO) / HANDOUT' - NO MARKETING NO ADVERTISING CAMPAIGNS) US semiconductor giant Nvidia will make a “massive investment” to construct a large campus in northern Israel, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced on Thursday, Dec. 18.
Speaking at a public event, Netanyahu stated the investment by the $4.3 trillion company would be located in Kiryat Tivon, in the Galilee region. "The whole world is chasing after NVIDIA – and NVIDIA is coming to Israel," Netanyahu said, adding the project would create thousands of jobs in a country where unemployment is at a historic low.
The announcement confirms plans reported by Israeli media in recent months.
According to those reports, the Israeli government has approved the allocation of approximately 22 acres of land in Kiryat Tivon for the project without a tender. The land sale, valued at around 90 million Israeli shekels ($28 million), is expected to be finalized imminently.
Construction is slated to begin in 2027, with an opening target of 2031.
The investment comes amid heightened scrutiny of the role of international corporations in the Israel-Gaza conflict.
In a June 2025 report to the UN Human Rights Council, UN Special Rapporteur Francesca Albanese warned that major technology companies, including Nvidia, are "directly complicit" in what she termed "Israel’s genocide in Gaza."
Her report, titled "From Economy of Occupation to Economy of Genocide," lists 48 corporations it accuses of enabling violations of international law through the provision of AI, surveillance, and other technologies.
Nvidia has previously acknowledged its operations in Israel. Last July, the company announced a major development center plan in the country.
In 2023, Nvidia and its employees have provided millions of dollars in donations and material aid to Israeli nonprofits supporting communities affected by the war.
