Various of voters casting ballots Storyline Approximately 2.3 million registered voters have cast their ballots in the Central African Republic's presidential, legislative, regional and municipal elections, which were held on Sunday. Seven candidates are vying for the presidency, including incumbent President Faustin-Archange Touadera, who has been in power since 2016 and is seeking a third term. His main opponents are Anicet-Georges Dologuele and Henri-Marie Dondra, both former prime ministers. Final results of the presidential election are expected to be announced on January 20, 2026, and the other final results will be released between February 24 and March 18. If no candidate secures an absolute majority in the presidential race, a runoff between the top two candidates will be scheduled.
