The improvised explosive device detonated as the soldier approached the vehicle, injuring him and a female acquaintance with shrapnel wounds and concussion.

Investigators say the suspect was recruited through social media with a promised reward of $1,500, which she never received, and she is also being investigated for the arson of another military vehicle last month.
