ISTANBUL, TÜRKİYE - JAN. 8: Türkiye's Marmara Region has been grappling with storm and strong winds since Thursday morning, Jan. 8, causing significant damage across Istanbul and neighboring provinces.
Fallen trees in multiple districts have damaged numerous vehicles, while in Esenler district, debris from torn roofs struck parked cars, adding to the destruction.
The Meteorology 1st Regional Directorate Istanbul Regional Forecast and Early Warning Center has issued warnings for continued adverse weather conditions.
Starting Friday morning, strong winds and storms from southerly and southwesterly directions are forecast to affect Istanbul, Kocaeli, Sakarya, and Yalova.
Authorities have urged citizens to exercise caution and take necessary precautions against potential hazards, including transportation disruptions, structural damage from flying debris, carbon monoxide poisoning from heating appliances, and blizzard conditions in snow-covered areas.
