3. VARIOUS OF DEVASTATED LAND RAMALLAH, WEST BANK, PALESTINE - JAN. 12, 2026: Israeli forces on Monday, Jan 12, demolished a Palestinian-owned house and destroyed a water well in the occupied West Bank.

Israeli soldiers, accompanied by bulldozers, raided the town of Shuqba, west of Ramallah, and demolished a Palestinian home on the pretext that it lacked a building permit, according to local sources.

Israel continues to demolish homes and agricultural structures in the West Bank under the pretext of “lack of permits.” Such practices further exacerbate the already harsh living conditions faced by Palestinians in the occupied territory.

In a separate incident, Israeli forces entered the town of Beit Omar, north of Hebron, with three bulldozers and destroyed a water well used by farmers for agricultural irrigation.

Local sources said the demolition is part of Israeli policies targeting water resources and agricultural infrastructure in areas where farming constitutes a primary source of livelihood.

Palestinians say Israel is escalating attacks carried out by the army and Israeli settlers, intensifying home demolitions, forced displacement and settlement expansion, as part of efforts to pave the way for the de facto annexation of the West Bank.

The annexation of the West Bank is widely seen as a move that would effectively undermine the implementation of the two-state solution, enshrined in UN resolutions that deem settlement activities in the occupied territories illegal under international law.

Israeli forces and illegal settlers have killed at least 1,104 Palestinians in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, injured nearly 11,000, and detained around 21,000 since October 2023, Palestinian figures showed.

In a landmark opinion last July, the International Court of Justice declared Israel’s occupation of Palestinian territory illegal and called for the evacuation of all settlements in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.
