RAQQA, SYRIA - JANAURY 19: The destruction of strategically vital bridges by the YPG/SDF terrorist organization in Syria’s Raqqa has left civilians living on both banks of the Euphrates River facing a severe humanitarian crisis.

With vehicle and pedestrian crossings between the two banks of the river disrupted, residents have been forced to rely on boats at high cost to meet daily needs and reach their homes.

The YPG/SDF terror group has demolished several bridges in Syria’s Raqqa province in an apparent effort to prevent the Syrian Army from entering the area, local sources said.

Among the destroyed crossings are the Old Bridge and the Al-Rashid Bridge, a vital link connecting the al-Shamiya and al-Jazira regions.

The bridge’s destruction will disrupt transportation and civilian movement between the two areas.

The Syrian Army established full control of the strategic al-Tabqah district in Raqqa province after expelling YPG/SDF terror group forces.

The Syrian Army Operations Department said government forces secured the district and cleared it of YPG/SDF terrorists.
